Resin-bound driveways consist of an aggregate (such as gravel) that has been mixed with a binding agent. This binder attaches the small stones to one another while still leaving small gaps so that water can percolate to the subsurface below. A hidden benefit of resin is that it helps to “lock in” the colour of the stones; providing them with a degree of protection from UV rays and ensuring that their appearance will not fade over time. Some other advantages of resin-bound surfaces include:
- They will rarely crack.
- They can withstand temperature changes.
- They are highly resistant to weeds.
- They provide an anti-slip surface.
- A nearly limitless number of patterns and designs can be selected.
Their overall seamless visual appearance should also be mentioned, as it can be used to provide your home with a slightly luxurious edge. Our driveway specialists will be happy to explain the installation process in greater detail as well as to provide you with a hassle-free estimate.
